What factory loads shoot well in the t3? I've tried 6 different ones and I'm not thrilled with any of them. The "guaranteed 1" group seems hard to come by. Anybody have a good one?

What loads have you tried? Also does your scope have an adjustable objective?

I haven't shot a factory load of any kind since 1983 so I can't answer that question, but I handload for a friends T3 in 300 WSM and we use a 180 Hornady Spire point, 65 grains of IMR 4350, and CCI 200 primers. This load averages .820" for 5 shots. I have owned or loaded for friends 7 different Tikka's - a 223, 243, 270, two 7-08's, a 300 win mag and 300 WSM and we got all of them shooting under 1" for 5 shots - the 7-08's and 223 were well under an inch. Some of the guns did take some significant load development and were a little picky, but some just shot everything well. I think most of them live up to the 1" claim, but sometimes you get a lemon.

ritz, have you tried the Winchester Supreme, Balistic Silver Tip? They are supposed to be very accurate. Haven't used them myself, but thats what I hear.

Thanks Gismo, I'll give the Wnchester Supremes a try also. The scope's a Leupold vari-XIII & I've never had a problem with Leupolds.

You've got the right scope. I would say to wait and see if the Supremes work.

Also are you using good shooting techniques? I noticed in your other post you were going to Africa. I'd recommend putting a fair amount of time behind the rifle and get familiar with it and hone your shooting skills. Good luck.
