Yup, and we likes it thataway!! Noticed corn was coming up so that will fill any gaps I had in my busy schedule (watching it grow that is). Maybe take the family to the airport to watch the planes (big ones!) take off and land. Or a Saturday or Sunday at the Hubert Hoover Presidential museum.
But if you really want excitement, a trip to the University of Iowa (the land of flat stomachs and round bottoms) for "bird" watching can be very pleasing. Good excuse for the binoculars, anyway!

Honest fellas, we've always had schools on Arkansas, I don't ever remember going fishing without finding at least one school. :p :p :p :p

My Ft. Riley experience was a long time ago, but hot and flat is what I remember. Many folks think of Iowa as flat, but I've always considered it "rolling".....just cross it via Interstate 80 of a good example. In any case, we agree the young lady in question is flat??
Dan
Harshok -
District of Columbia is NOT a state - it is a district in the State of Maryland where the nation's capitol is located (also, the site of the highest crime rate in the nation - both political and criminal! :D ). There are only 50 states.

Yea, we agree, she's flat. You go toward Topeka or about 30 miles west of Salina on I 70? There are a few hills that I do not think the truckers like. Also, I live on the eastern edge of the Flint Hills and also got into some pretty hilly country north of Russel and Hays.
Edit to add: Yea, most of Kansas is pretty flat, but I have seen more hills in Kansas than Iowa although I do agree that Iowa is a little rolling.

There's some highways in northwestern Kansas that get pretty bad. I forget the name of it, but I was heading up to Brush, CO from Wichita. It was like driving over 200 foot whoop-de-doos. Not fun in an old fullsize Jimmy :(
Hey, Mitch -
Have a sister and her family living in Brush - didn't know anyone else knew where that little place was! Do you know folks there, or just driving through?

I went there to meet a guy coming down from Nebraska so I could get some truck parts off him. I stayed the night in some motel right off the interstate and then left for Denver the next day.
