View Full Version : A whole new situation...
Charlie's wife, Lucy, had been after him for several week to paint the seat on their commode. Finally, he got around to tending to the task while Lucy was out grocery shopping. He left to take care of another matter before she returned. She came in with an urgent need to make use of the commode and didn't notice the freshly painted toilet seat. As she tried to stand up, she realized that the not-quite-dry Epoxy Paint had glued her to the commode seat. Charlie returned home about an hour after Lucy became firmly attached to the seat and heard his wife's pitiful cries for help. He pushed and
pulled on the seat, and Lucy, without any success whatsoever.
Finally, in desperation, Charlie undid the commode seat bolts, wrapped Lucy in a sheet and drove her to the emergency room. The ER doctor carefully placed Lucy
into a position where he could best study how to free her. All but mortified at her predicament, Lucy tried to lighten the embarrassment of it all by saying, "Well, Doctor, I'll bet you've never seen anything like this before". He said, "Actually, I've seen a lot of them. I just never saw one
FRAMED before".

I wonder if that Epoxy paint is as strong as Wal-Mart Super glue. :D :D :D :D

Are you suggesting that you've done that with super glue?

Not me! But I read last week where a Wal-Mart employee found someone in one of the rest rooms that was in that configuration. Have to admit, it was funny. Besides someone else thought of it first. :D :D I do remember someone gluing down the lids in the outhouse at school with Model airplane glue when I was a kid going to school in Florida. (Two Room Schoolhouse. One for K thru 6th grade, and the other for 7 thru 9th grade.) I think kdub and DOK were class mates. They probably did it. :D :D :D :D

The outhouses of my "youth" were sans toilet lids or seats. Just a hole hewn out of the boards. :p
My Dad was a builder of outhouses, esteemed. Neighbors often asked him to construct theirs and he took great pride in his individual styles! As some hobbiest build pretty and unique bird houses, so my Dad built outhouses.
'Course, he was born in Crosses, Ark so knew his trade well - :D

Me too.....and we didn't have a fancy two room school house, just one room with the pot bellied stove! But we did have two outhouses, gender specific. Darned if I can remember what they used to identify which house was which gender.

I've had indoor plumbing for as long as I can remember :p
is an outhouse like a porta-potty? ;)
This is one of those "if you have to ask, you don't really want to know".

It's a little wooden shack built over a hole in the ground, with a floor and a raised section topped with a board with a large hole you can sit over and make your deposits. the best ones have the board with the hole in it varnished, so you don't get splinters. some have hinged lids over the hole, and some of the more modern ones even have comercial toilet seats installed. :D :D
I see DOK has neglected your education of late. :D :D

kdub, My wife was born and raised in St Paul, and her Mom has lived around there all her life too. When we first got hitched we lived in Combs for 3 or 4 years. The Missus wonders if she might know your Dad, if you don't mind saying who he is. Aside from knowing where Crosses AR is, I'm REAL familiar with outhouses---we didn't have indoor "covenience" til I was 12 or 14 years old. I guess I just dated myself, time for a dose of Geritol.............and a nap. :D

LOL!!!!!!!!!
You guys have got to be giving us younger ones a ribbing?
However, I still bet it beats some parts of europe where there is a hole in ground with "footprints" on where to properly place your feet! The high end ones will have grab rails mounted in the dirt!!

There's no ribing here, those are facts. ;) ;) ;) Also while stationed in Japan, the rest rooms for the men and women had seperate doors, but no walls between them, In other words, CO-ED. and yes they are slots in the floor with foot reasts.

even some of us younger set are aware of what and how the outhouse functions. Cold place to have to run out to inthe winter time as they aren't conveniently close to the cabin, are they? :P
