Hey guys,

I was wondering wich stock on a TC encore would be the best for recoil reduction. I know that the standard wood stock would weigh more than the new Pro H., but then again TC claims that the new style stock is supposed to reduce felt recoil by 43%. I don't know if I believe this. Any of you guys out there shot these rifles? I am going to start with a light caliber, probably .243 win, but I intend on getting larger ones as time goes by (when I get bored with shooting the .243). Any help on this subject would be great.

thanks,

I have a Encore .50 ML and to me it kicks pretty hard with either my Walnut, or Fiber stock. The wood stock balances the weapon much better for shooting, but adds some weight for carrying. The wood is of course quieter in the woods if you brush up against something.

My other caliber is a 22-250 26" heavy barrel. I use a fiber stock with it. It is a real tack driver, although there are some verticle stringing issues once the barrel gets hot. That takes a while though. The bull barrels are slow to heat up, but then slower to cool down as well.
