Anybody know if Hornady still makes or markets their Vector Ammo? They made a big deal out of it in the 90's when it came out, and we used some for training in 9mm, but it was promised in other calibers. Did they drop it completely? I'd love to see it in 45 and 40, but I'm afraid they dropped it for lack of sales. Anybody know for sure?

Ive been on their mailing list for the past 3 or 4 years and havent seen it in their catalogs. They make TAP ammo now that is a tactical specific ammo. Its supposed to produce less muzzle flash and the cases are coated with a type of moly to aid in feeding. Its good stuff!

To the best of my knowledge, it's not being made. Only stuff I saw was in 9mm, but do remeber them claiming other rounds were on thier list to be made.

On a guess, the near universal range-ban on tracer ammo...and the inability to distinguish one type of tracer from another...did them in. Was useful ammo.

So was the 12ga. round with the tracer "bulb" in the shot sharge...great way to sneak-check on a new shotgunner's swing (but if you know it's going to happen, you nearly aways stop your swing early to watch...and shoot behind the bird).

took some of the Hornady 9mm rounds apart. Unlike "real" tracers, this stuff had what looked like a short length of 1/16" metal poking out the bullet base. Evidently some type of magnesium ribbon, treated with something on the end to promote ignition.
