Marshall ,I read in your tips about using red dot to fire form brass, but what about using Unique? I'd like to try this method with a filler instead of using cast bullet's. I'm wanting to fire form 400 Yukon brass. Thank's, John Anderson

John,

Sure, you can use Unique!  It's a little slower, and won't spike pressures as quickly (hence the Red Dot).  You can increase powder charges accordingly to acheive your goal, but I doubt that the shoulders will be as sharp and defined as if using Red Dot or Bullseye.   None-the-less, you'll have fine results just the same with Unique, and brass that's formed fine for your first pressure loads.

Let us know how this project goes with actual firing tests!

God Bless,

Marshall

I'd be interested in where you posted the procedure for fireforming brass with red dot.

Thanks!

Although I didn't specify Red Dot, I did mention most any flake type fast burning handgun powder.   Here's the link to that tip.   It's found in our Tips and Comment Section.

The link above should get you there!  Let us know how your fire-forming goes!
