I don't see the 798 or 799 listing the 8X57 though.

It was one of their yearly Classic series, 2004, if this chart is right. 800 must be a typo, as IIRC, the 8x57 was a recent offering. I would guess that your best best is gunbroker or auction arms.

Look here. Maybe a little off topic. Don't know myself, just sharing. I did have an oppurtunity to play with the Daly Mausers and was impressed to say the least, most especially after finding out what was paid for them. I can't imagine why Remington would alter them, but, and it's just my opinion, they're already off on the wrong foot with those stocks.
