Wow! Beautiful gun and awesome caliber. How far out can you seat the bullets in the case? Back in 1987 I had a chance at a 600 in 350 Rem mag for...um $325.00! I was getting married in 5 months and past it up. REGRETS! I have neither now but really miss that 350...a real keeper.

Thanks guys, I love this rifle
Right now I'm seating a 250gr speer hot cor at a COL of 2.908, thas is as long as the action will take and eject a loaded case.
I had a chance at a 600 in 350 Rem mag for...um $325.00!
Would it make you feel better if I paid $320 for this rifle with dies and bullets.
I have been a huge 30-06 fan, hopeing to have the same sucess with this round that I have had with the '06.

I've always liked bigger diameter bullets (323, 338 and 350 cals) at good velocities. Somehow they just seem to kill better. I've been shooting an 8mm for a lot of years now and with a 220 grain bullet at a little over 3000 fps it does a nice job on elk, bear and deer.
I've always hankered for a 350 Rem mag, but just didn't like the looks of the 600. The one you've built is as nice a looking gun as I've seen, good job.
I've got a friend whose daughter has been shooting a 350 mag for a lot of years now and she finds it mostly one shot deadly on Idaho elk and deer. I believe she's shooting a 225 grain bullet. I witnessed a one shot 225 yard elk kill with this little Rem 600. It was a behind the shoulder shot and Mr. elk went down like he was poleaxed. Never even twitched. I was impressed.

I'b been told that this is one of the niceist stock that Remington has made for the 700 classic.
I never made it past the 30 cal.'s in the reloading book, unless it was for the 44mag. I've found a whole new respect for large and not so fast.

It looks like you did a bang up job on the Remington Classic. Remington discontinued making that model this year
which was unfortunate. Many of us feel it was the best model Remington was making in recent years. I have two of them and am quite satisfied with both. I also glass bed the actions and float the barrels. Remington seems to have slipped a notch in recent years but fortunately that doesn't apply to the classic. Best wishes.

That is nice and in a great caliber. A "short" mag ahead of it's time.

Thanks guys. This is my one and only nice rifle, I'm almost afraid to take it out of the safe. After this fall, I'm shure ti will be my #1 rifle.
I'm still wondering why the 350 is soo overlooked???? This will be my one magnum rifle.
Again thanks for all the kind words.

None of the 35 caliber rifles seem to be very popular with the possible exception of the 35 Rem. All the others, 358 Win, 356 Win, 35 Whelen, etc., are all great calibers IMO, but just never were popular. Who knows why.

Beautiful rifle! I'd be proud to own that one. Good luck.
B. t. Your bedding appears to be very well done. That looks as if it should a very good grouping rifle. I also prefer a poly type finish. 'been using Minnwax wipe-on on recent jobs. It also ends up looking like an oil rubbed finish, but much more durable.
good post, Gene

Nice makeover, Black tail.
I have the 700 Classic in 35 Whelen. Your 350 should be just about the ballistic twin of the Whelen. That makes me think you will love it for sure.
My Whelen is my sentimental #2 rifle, right behind a 700ADL '06 I've had for over 40 years. To be honest, the Whelen will do everything the '06 will when it comes to big game. I have taken antelope, whitetail, mule deer, elk and a mountain lion with my Whelen.
And I agree, the stock on the 700 Classics is about as good as it gets in a factory rifle.

This was my first attemp to bed a rifle, I did everything but apply the bedding epoxy. Next rifle I'll do with my dad looking over my shoulder.
