Back at the end of Feb. or the first week of Mar. I orderd a Buffalo Classic from Wally wourld, they called Monday and I Am Grinnin now! :D The wood is nice, not at all fancy but better than on my sons 410. The casehardening is some of the least interesting I have ever seen. And I love them sights, Just like the ones on my M99 Daisy when I was a kid!
I'm in the prosses of givin her a good cleanin and then off to the range. She is just what I wanted and feels mighty nice in the hand! (she was worth the wate) :D

Idaho,

Got mine second hand (as new) and couldn't be happier; started out with some IMR 4198 behind a hard cast 300gr lead bullet; works very well, but am now loading the same bullet over a slightly compressed load of clean shot BP substitute and really turned it into a head turner at the range!! :D Very accurate and comfortable shooter that I use in offhand 100yd competitions against scoped rifles, and I'm getting the better of them unscoped!!

Good luck and good shootin'

Had a chance to shoot her today, WOW, cresent butt plates and t-shirts do not match! Think I need a more easily ajustable rear sight. What a shooter, I was shooting ULTRAMAX Cowboy loads, which are pretty tame, since it was a sight in/get aquanted day, I was shooting three shot groups, off the bench. I am impressed with her, 3/4 inch center to center groups if I was real carefull. That is better than my scoped 788/308. Think I will have to shoot tomarow:D

I pick up a BC last year 45-70 new I really like the way the gun shoots seem the more lead goes down the barrel ,the better she shoots.
I been loading BP using 405 FP cast bullet found 70 grains shoots excellent with .458 diameter bullet.
I tried the other day some IMR 3031 36 grains and had a few clover leaf groups at the 100 yard target, the more I learn about soft cast bullets .459 shot excellent and my next cast will be .460 with a BHN of 10 .
I tried them 500 grainers but the recoil is stiff for the light weight B.C.

Lonewolf,

I found the same thing to be true in mine too... .459 shoots good, but the .460's shoot great.
good shootin'

I remember someone on this forum, cant remember who but I think it was an admin, that had his BC rechambered to 45-120. He was trying to develop a max load for it. I tried searching the forum but I cant find any record of it. I was wondering whatever became of the beast that he created.

Wrongtarget has one that's been reamed out to 120, but I don't know how much he's been shooting it. You might try over at Graybeard's, when they come back online.

Haven't shot anything yet this year, Paul!! Between honeydos and home remodeling, this year hasn't been a good shooting year and I have a bunch of shooting to do!!

The .35 Remington Handi is all ready with 200gr BTB and 240gr Mt Baldy loads, need to wring out the .405 Winchester Target with the 350gr X-bullets, and the 35 Whelen Ultra needs 250gr loads worked up.

It wasn't me that was looking for top loads for my .45-120 BC, the brass is too expensive and hard to get to be wearing out shooting hot loads, so I only shoot mild to moderate loads so the brass will last a long time. I save my .45-70s for the hot stuff!!

I think NFG was the poster Snarf is looking for.

Yep, I know what you mean about having so many that need load work done on them! It wouldn't be so bad if it was just the Handis, but there are other fish to fry too. :D

Hmmm. that looks like it, except the thread i remember had pictures to go along with it. I believe these are the ones. in any case, did NFG ever "finish" the development of those loads i wonder.

Those are pics I took and posted. NFG's last post was in March in the Wildcat forum.

NFG.... I don't know what you plan to do with the 400gr. Speer at 2200+fps .... but...... let me assure you, it will expand agressively. Biggest exit hole I've ever seen in a hog came courtesy of that bullet, at a bit less velocity.

Don't shoot the parts you plan on eating :D
