What would one suggest for the new to casting person in the way of manuals, books, or video. I've reloaded for years but have never cast my own yet.

Lyman Cast Bullet Manual (whatever edition is current) is still pretty much the standard text. Has very good sections on the "hows and whys" of bullet casting; every cast bullet shooter should have a copy (after all, Lyman doesn't make or sell jacketed bullets). Buy the manual...read the the chapters BEFORE the loading data...post any specific questions you might have; are a bunch of old hands here that can help.

Ditto on the Lyman Handbook, I look at it practically every day.
Also you can look thru copies of Handloader , Shooting Times and Guns . There have quite a few decent articles on casting in them . Many in the past few years.
There is also another forum called www.castboolits.gunloads.com
Browse there , here and possibly www.leverguns.com .

For what you want at first...how to cast information...may take a look on the used book sites on-line (Alibris or Book Finder) and hunt up a wron used copy...don't much care, want to read it not collect it, and can save a good bit of $.
Just rember, the Lyman Reloader's Handbook has a mix of Jacketed and cast bullet loads...the Lyman Cast Bullet Handbook is dedicated to only lead loads. I'd proably pick up both of them used over one of them new.

The Lee reloading manual has an excellent set if directions if your using their equipment. Easy to read and easy to follow the directions.
The RCBS Cast Bullet Manual has a lot of useful information too, and can usually be found cheap on Ebay.

You may also want to look at "The Art of Bullet Casting Collection" published by Wolfe Publishing Company on DVD which has quite a few articles on casting bullets. Wolfe charges $25.00 for this.
