In my quest for making a .452/.453 bore wildcat, for use in a Winchester 94 action, I have had the problem of finding brass that would work. Here are my questions, what about necking 450 Marlin to .452/3? Also, what kind of performance might this be able to do, using a 335 ish grain bullet, and keeping the pressure in the 40,000 cup limit of the standard 94 action? Why go for .452 you ask? I would like to use my 45 colt chambered 94 as the platform, and I already have the carrier and guides for the swap. The bolt face may need to be opened up, but that won't be a problem. Does the 450 headspace on the rim, or the belt? Any ideas for a heavier bullet, say 405 grain?
