My long-lost Bersa 380 is coming home next week after being on loan for two years, and I'll be carrying it a lot this summer. All I've ever shot thru it is ball ammo, but I'm pretty sure it will feed hollowpoints. So who makes the best defensive 380 ammo? Is there such a thing as a Hydra-Shok or a Gold Dot load for the 380? With a caliber that light, I'll take all the magic I can get!

Federal makes a 90 grain Hydra-Shok JHP, and Speer makes a 90 grain Gold Dot JHP.

Check out Corbon DPX.

The Hydrashock has the best rating in the last statistics Ive seen. Not much difference in the top rated loads. About equal to a 2 inch 38 with top loads. I use the CorBon in my 9mm and would probably check that companies loadings.
