I found a top eject Winchester Big Bore 94 .375 XTR at the gunshop today and was wondering about the price. It appears to be unfired but has no box.
The asking price is $495.
How does this sound?
Thanks,
Dave

I show a new in the box value at $366, but you can't hold to that since they are no longer made. If it looks clean and appears to be unfired, I would pay that for it.

Nice Winchester in a caliber that's hard to find. . . go for it.

You'll regret it later if you don't grab that one! Great cartridge, good gun and fair price... why not?

Thanks guys.
If it's still there on Tuesday, I'll buy it.
It will cease to be "unfired" shortly thereafter.
Dave
If you check the auction sites these have been bringing much more than they are actually worth.
I have one and it's a very nice gun.
I'd say go for it.
Remember that cash talks!

"He who hesitates...."
...or to be more accurate.."he who opens his big mouth..."
I was surprised to see it still sitting in the rack when I went back and casually mentioned it to the owner of the shop.
He immediately perked up when I said "...Big Bore 94".
His reply was to walk over and pick it up to inspect and said..
"I didn't know we had this. Do you know what these are going for?"
And then promptly added $400 to the price.
Maybe it's all for the best as he could have gotten pissed if I had bought it earlier for the lesser price.
I saw a 2nd Gen Colt SAA .44 Special 5.5" in a gunshop about 12 years ago for $325. They dealt mostly in long guns and didn't realise what they had. I, of course, bought it. Then some dunce made it his duty to inform the dealer what the Colt was really worth.
The dealer held a grudge until the day he closed up shop. Like it was my fault he didn't do his homework.
Maybe I should have offered him $650 for a gun he had marked at $325.
Anyways, I put a smile on the face of the dealer with the 94, maybe that will be to my advantage in the future.
So if any of you guys want an original Big Bore 94, I know where you can get one for $895.

Rem Dave..........
Let him sit on it for a while (and I feel pretty certain at that kinda money he will). Betcha the price comes down.
thats pretty much the going price now for the 375 wins.sad but true.paid 400.00 for my early top eject "win" 375 when they came out.people thought I was nuts to pay that.
I have taken lots of deer with mine.it is like hitting them with a brick.

Dave,
Sorry to hear of your rotten luck on the Big Bore, but keep looking and you may find a bargain(500 or less would be a steal for a "like new" Big Bore in these times.)
AH-1 Nice looking rifle! Without the Frankenstein bolt to boot :) I do like mine also(356 version):
