Has anybody had any experience with the little Bersa autos? I saw one at the local gun shop for cheap and wondered if they were good little guns. It seems to be put together well and has a pretty decent trigger pull on it. I put it on reserve just in case it ended up being a good gun. Any info?

Ive had one for quite some time. Its easy to conceal very reliable and reasonably accurate. Ive sure been happy with it. THE best gun in its price range imo.

I wholeheartedly agree! I've owned 2 of them and shot probably half a dozen more and all have been without exception reliable and amazingly accurate for a gun of this type. To me, they represent a real "best buy" in the field of conveniently-sized, reasonable power, self defense handguns in ANY price range!.

Well worth the money in my opinion. I love my "little Bersa" for for easy t-shirt concealability. In Texas, they run right at $200 NIB, I would hardly think a used one would be worth buying. Just my opinion.

Yup, got mine new for 199.99. I noticed that the price went up to 219.99 since at the same shop.

I've had only one problem with mine.

Using American Eagle 380 ACP, this happens almost every time, never with any other ammo. The second to last round will not eject properly. For lack of better terms, it stove pipes. But it more like doesn't fully extract from the barrell, and I have to remove the magazine to remove the case. Never happens on the 3rd to last raound, or the ladt round, only the 2nd to last round. And only with American Eagle. Go figure..... I even shot 'low recoil' 380 ACP (yeah, I didn't know it existed until I saw it) and had no issues. I don't know, I just don't shoot American Eagle and I don't have that issue.

But I definately recommend the Bersa Thunder 380, great little lightweight gun, and fun to shoot.

Alrighty. I went and picked it up! They had a new one there and it was $100 more than this used one. I gave it a good looking over and it appears fine. Plus, my gun shop gives me a 1 year warranty on used firearms. So if it pukes, Ill take er back. But from the sounds of it, they are great little guns and one of the best bangs for the buck. The one that I picked up is the duo-tone black slide with the silver grip frame. Sharp little bugger! I also picked up another stainless Super BlackHawk. I loaded some 320 grain LBT gas checks on top of 12 grains of Blue Dot for some hunters and loaded some 180 grain single grease groove cast lead cheapos over 8 grains of Blue Dot for plinkers. Should be fun!

Sorry guys! I shot a box of regular Remington FMJ ammo through it and it ate it all up without a hitch. It is way more accurate than I would have ever thought a tiny pistol like that could be and the trigger on the darn thing is unreal. It must be around 3-4lbs in single action. It field strips very easily and is a breeze to clean. In short, a very accurate, lightweight, well built, cheap gun that is cheap to shoot. I honestly dont see how I got along this far without one. He!!, ammo is the same price I pay for .22mag. TNT from CCI. If you dont have one already, GO GET ONE!!
Also, my Super BlackHawk and those reloads that I made shot great. The 300 grain cheapo casts over 9 grains of Blue Dot were very mild with enough push to make it fun. The 180 grainers ove 8 grains were suprisingly accurate out past 50 yards. They didnt drop anywhere near what I thought they would. And the 320 grain LBT over 12 grains of Blue Dot also shot well, with relatively little recoil. I suspect they need to go over some H110 to really come alive. Ive loaded them in the past with 18 grains of H110 and they really pop. The 180 grainers were real smokey, almost like shooting pyrodex. It was a good time shooting!

my girlfriend is wanting to buy one for home defense, she had one guy offer to sell her one for $275, that sounds like too much for me, is that a good choice for her?

A good choice? Yes. A good price? Well, it's about $50-60 too high for around here.

Was that a dealer or someone off the street? If it was a dealer go some where else cause that's a rip off! Should only pay $199-225 for brand new ! My wife has one and it's shot everything I've put through it.

Around here, SW PA, they seem to be running in the $239.00 range. Maybe slightly less, if you drive a few miles to get it.

I got one about 2 weeks ago. nice little gun. i shot about 98 rounds from mine so far. Would have been 100 rounds but 1 box had a 9mm round in it and the other had around that was all beat up and dented. no way was i going to put that in my gun.

does anyone know if there are any laser sights available for the Bersa Thunders?

I agree with woodzman. I've had mine for a year or so now and never had any problems with it. It is my main pistol I use for concealed carry. Down here in Louisiana, the price of them is between $225 and $250.

I bought my T380 duo-tone at Academy Sports for less than $200.00 in Oct of 2005. It required a short breakin period but since then it's been perfect. It fits my hand quite well and is reasonably accurate for a small pistol. I used it to qualify for my CHL and carry it often in the hot Texas summer. In the colder months I move up to either a 9mm or a 40 SW as clothing allows.
My wife has a Walther PPK/S 380 which she loves but I like my little cheapo Bersa better.
It's a great little gun that those who own it will testify to but those who judge a gun by the price tag will bad mouth at every opportunity. It's a keeper! :D
