I read some where that you could load shotshells without using shot capsules.I tried a search here but nothing came up.Can anyone give the procedure to do this.I want to load for .357 mag. Also please give me an idea of the load of powder to use for these.thanks jim

I had a brain fart. Found what i wanrted in the archives.Any idea for powder weight to use with one of these powders,Bullseye,reddot, greendot ,700x, unique or 2400.Any advice appreciated. Jim

Go to gunblast.com and search for "Snake stopper" or look at www.castbullet.com/reload/44shot.htm for some ideas. You'll have to adjust for your caliber, but these are good starting points. I've shot 25-30 snakestopper including 3 for its namesake in .45LC. They have a more dense pattern than plastic shotshells, and the round ball toppper is icing on the cake.

My snake shot load for the .357 is 2.5 grains of Bullseye, cardboard wad (cut using a piece of 357 brass for a cutter) put in whatever size shot you want (I use 7 1/2) than put a gas check over the top of that and crimp it in place. Pretty wicked out to about 10-15 feet.

I do the same thing for the 44mag too.
