I have the chance to buy a mint unfired Winchester 94 cal.30-30. I would like to know if it possible to lighten the trigger pull. What would be the value of a gun in this condition?

Whatever it's value is, it would be reduced if you were to modify it in any way.

Trigger jobs when done properly are not modifications. A good trigger job enhances the guns usefullness.

As for the value, I honestly don't know. Two years ago I picked up a near mint 1950 vintate 94 carbine in 30-30 for $250.00. I would have been tickled to get it for $350.00 or $400.00 then.

The value of the gun you are looking at can't be guessed at. It all depends on the year of manufacture, the seller, the region, and just how bad you want it.

I disagree with that. If a gun is new in the box and unfired, anything done to the rifle to change it from being FACTORY might in fact reduce its value to a collector. Now if you intend on using it, shooting/hunting with it, then by all means have the trigger lightened a bit. Anything to enhance the shootability and make it more enjoyable to shoot.
