I thought that the weatherby 30-378 was about as much powder as could be burned in a .30 caliber. Then I read in Handloader magazine about Ross Seyfrieds wildcat. He shot a nine inch group with it at one mile. Using 220 grain bullets sarted at 3400 fps. It did have a barrel over 30 inches, but I had never heard of this performance in a .30 caliber. Anybody have one?

Matt,
Ross has dubbed this rifle "Miss America" if I remember correctly. Big, gaudy, red, white n' blue job! A number of years ago, say ten or so, he did an extensive article in Guns and Ammo on the rifle, cartridge, and long-range shooting. You may be able to track down the exact issue by contacting that magazine. I know they have back issues for sale.

He better go to Camp Perry!!!! If he can do that at 1 mile(5280'), justs think what he could do at 1000 yards(3000'), and win every shoot! Oh well......it's time to feed the bulldogs!
Best Regards, James
