I never thought about it (duh!), but the only available cartridges for my Win 94 30-30 had either flat or rounded heads. It never occured to me that a pointed cartridge could possibly misfire in the tube feeder. Again, duh! the point fits right into the center of the cartridge in front.

Does it really increase effective range to 300 yards, as Hornady claims?

Welcome to the forum Denny. Yup this is one of the tru cartridge breakthroughs. Kinda breaths new life into those old lever action guns. I don't think you'll ever be able to shoot with my 280 Rem or the 8mm Rem mag, but thse ought to make a 30-30 a reliable 150 yard gun for deer.
