I recently purchased an American Arms (Uberti Cattlleman) revolver in .44 mag. caliber. Is this gun safe to shoot with factory .44 Mag. ammo? I've thus far only shot it with 44 Special cowboy loads and it is quite accurate and shoots to point of aim. Anybody know much about the Cattleman in .44 Mag. cal.? Seems to be a well put together gun for the $.
Thanks lots for any info Chopperlump

No idea; as far as I was aware Uberti only chambered a 44 for use with 44/40, or 44 Russian.

Had one years ago with the short barrel. You can use any 44 mag loads as the frame is made for it. Recoil is brisk.

Welcome.
If in doubt, contact the manufacturer.... but if it is stamped ".44 mag" on the side, then it darn well better handle factory .44 mag loads, or the gun manufacturer is going to have a pile of trouble on their hands.
As you'll find out, .44 specials will be a lot more fun to shoot. Clean the chambers good before you shoot the mags.
