Hi,
I've just joined this forum, this is my first post.
I've recently picked up a very nice Mod 94 Big Bore 375 XTR, and I'm really happy with it.
I'm wondering if anyone knows if scope mounts are available? They would have to be side mounted because it is a top eject model.
I would love to know what year it was made too. It's serial no. is BB051231 if that helps.
thank you
Andrew

Welcome to the forum Drew. Rules are simple, be nice and join in.
Brownell's and Midway both will have the mounts and rings you need. I'm not really a lever action guy, but lots of our members are and probably will be able to help you with the date of mfg on your 94.
Again welcome to the forum and enjoy.

I'm not sure what the manufacture date is but here is the base for a side mount. My nephew was looking at a similar rifle but messed around and missed the purchase...

I show your rifle being made in 1896 with that serial #. That serial number can't be right. The 375 XTR was made from 1978 to date. Here is a sight for you to check manufacture dates. Re-check your serial number first though.

Hope this helps.

Hi Gismo,
Thanks for your reply. I also did check this web site and http://www.savage99.com/winchester1894_dates.htm and i got the same year. My serial number definately is BB051231. The person i bought it from said he bought it new in the mid eighties.
I took it down the range again today, It's such a good feeling gun! I'm looking forward to getting it out amongst the pigs.
The only downside so far is the expensive ammo - $42 AUD per 20 rounds.

the 375 winchester was made from 1987-1983 I think with a few angle ejects being made after that. I will have to look to be sure though

Ok so I got the keys mixed up
should have been 1978-1983 for the BB serial numbers and then I still think they made a few angle ejects which had a AE serial number. Boy getting old has some advantages but not many.
I had a really good run down on them and believe I posted it here earlier this year but can't find it. Anyone finding it please let me know where it is so I can add it to my reference material. thanks
