Has anyone seen the maximum distance the 60 grain subsonic bullet will go? The 40 grain will go about a mile but the heavier bullet might go farther.

I'd think it could go farther too, but it's ballistics are a bit curious. According to Aguila's data, Vm is 950 fps and V100 is 802 fps.

Calculating the B.C. at JBM's site gives .091, compared to a 38 gr. HP's .127. Lower than I expected. Running the 60 grain load through the maximum distance calculator gives 1233 yards.

Are you shooting it through a standard 1 in 16 twist barrel or th 1 in 9 twist barrel. stability is going to play a part in how far it will go.

Good point. Figure a properly stabilized bullet.

The round in question is a soft lead 22 long rifle round and those are all shot in a 1/16 twist bbl at rimfire velocities.

These were not the most accurate lr rounds I've fired. They sure look funny though with that great big piece of lead sticking out of that shortened lr case.

40grain .22 rounds should be shot in a 1 in 16 twist barrel. Those 60 grainers are longer in relation to their diameter so they need a tighter twist in order to stablize them. otherwise not only do they not go as far but they are not as accurate. I bet if you used the super sniper barrel which was devloped for these rounds, you would see your accuracy improve. It comes with a tighter twist rate.
