My uncle just gave me my Grandfathers Titan 25 semi-auto pistol. This thing is real small and has all original documentation such as the receipt from 1974 and that he only paid $49.00 for the gun. I was just curious if anyone is familiar with this handgun and could share some info with me. Also Is the .25 (6.35mm) ammo hard to come by or can I find it at my local gun store? I spent roughly an hour or so cleaning it even though I don't think more than 10 rounds at most have been shot from the pistol, it was mainly coated in dust. Let me know, Thank you.

25 ACP is very common, don't know about the brand, but having it at the bedside is better than having a stick. Les

Titian came in at least variations over the years...all steel...steel slide and alloy frame (and there was a "Titian II" as well). If i remember correctly, the parts were made outside of the US but the FRAME was mde in the US and was assembled in Florida.

The Titian should be a kind of open top side critter...the barrel is exposed along most of it's length at the top.

PRetty simple gun, which has four things to look out for.

1. The mag. catch is some pot-metal part located at the heel of the frame...these tend to break. Easy fix is to drill the stump for two steel pins and file them until they perform the function of holding the magazine in place.

2. The sear bar has a protrusion/arm that works as the disconnector. They look like they wre fitted by a couple of passes on a rough grinding wheel....they were. Knocking the burrs off and polishing the bearing surface helps.

3. Trigger pull will probably suck...condiering it's use, learn to live with it and consider it an added safety feature.

4. THIS IS THE BIG ONE!!! the way the safety works. Safey is also the dissassemblylatch...if you cycle the side with the safety ON, will find the slide comes off. That kind of boo-boo could leave you with a dissassembled gun at a very difficult moment. One of those guns where it is better to leave it magazine full, chamber empty, OFF SAFE, and cycle the slide.

They generally work...50gr. FMJ ammo is available at most gun shops...beats a sharp stick.

Heck I use an old Savage 1907 in 32 ACP for my ccw. Les
