Do you guys know of any decent old west style holsters that would fit a Ruger Single Six? I'd prefer to stay under $50 if possible. I found one made by Hunter that I kind of like for $39.99 but I want to see what you guys have to suggest first.

Check out Cabala's, they've got several nice holsters in their cowboy section.

the holster i linked above came yesterday.
is there any thing i can do to "break it in"?

for instance, when i put the gun in the holster, it takes a bit to pull it out. is this normal? it seems to me the gun should slide out pretty easily.

Oil the pistol, put it in a gallon ziploc bag after you have soaked the holster. The put said pitol in the holster til it dries, it will be perfectly shaped for your revlover. Les

Soak the Holster in water, it won't hurt it. I just did one last week, fits my vaq perfectly now. Les

Violator's right. I do this all the time when I make holsters and it works fine. Get the holster good and wet. Don't worry, your holsters tooled leather. The tooled edges may soften a bit, but it'll be fine. I always work the leather the best I can after I've put the gun in to help it take the shape of and form fit to the gun. Let it dry overnight or alittle longer then remove the gun. Let it dry another day or two without the gun in it to let the leather dry inside. I normally work oil into it after this and let it sit another day before using it. It'll fit your gun perfectly after this treatment. Good luck.

ElBorak this is the holster I got for my vaquero, but thank god it doesn't have that stupid star on it.
