Finally success! After trying several combos, I have finally found a combination of primer-powder-bullet so that I could just reload for a second shot. I have a T/C G2 .45, and apparantly the bore is very "tight". I could only get one shot without a complete barrel cleaning: a couple of patches with bore cleaner then a couple of dry patches, a 3 or 4 minute procedure. I can now shoot a shot, reload with powder, bullet, primer and then shoot! The combo is Clear Shot, Powerbelt bullets, Rem. Kleanbore primers. I say this knowing my first shot is my best shot.

Good job :) The combination process can be frustrating and time consuming, but after trial and error I've become a believer most inline MLs shoot very nicely with 120gr FFG and a 250 or 300 gr shockwave or other sabot. T/C does indeed make a tight bore, might try their easier loading shockwave sabots if you want to shoot a bit further, but if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

I tried the Shockwave, but I broke a fiberglass ramrod trying to get one down a clean barrel.

Is Clear Shot still available? I have not been able to find any lately. 777 seems to be equally clean. I agree with the "Powerbelt" bullets being easy to load for a 2nd shot without cleaning (TC Renegade (well seasoned bore) and TC Omega. I use Federal 209A shotshell primers with the Omega as they are hotter than the Win 209s that I use for shotshell reloading. I bought the Omega after having misfires at 2 deer the same year with the Renegade several years ago. Sabots not legal for hunting in Colorado. I always reload after shooting as I once had a 5x5 Muley get up at about 10 feet when I approached the downed animal - I had reloaded the TC .54 Renegade and put him down again. On several occasions a downed animal (both deer and elk) was not yet dead and needed a finishing shot when I approached.

Clear Shot is being sold as Jim Shockey's Gold. I read a very interesting article(editorial?) concerning primers. They feel that "fliers" are occassions when the primer is so powerful that it blows the bullet off the charge before it ignites, resulting in poor accuracy. This company markets a new breechplug that accepts a .25ACP, no chargs, just primed. Same company that makes "Dead Center" bullets. Look up prbullet.com,I think they offer a breechplug for a Omega, I think....Plus, they say it is very clean burning. Aftermarket stuff, like putting headers on your chevy....

I think clear shot is the regular APP; the new jim shockey's shoots faster, between pyrodex and 777.
