Hi,
I am from Holland and I would like to know whether is is possible to enlarge te chambers from 2 3/4 inch to 3 inch of an over&under Winchester Supergrade?
I wish to shoot steel shot, the chokes are improved cylinder and half bore, so that is not a problem. The question is about the high pressure of the 3 inch shells. Can I safely put a quarter of an inch to my chambers so I can use 3 inch cartridges? (In Holland lead shot is forbidden, and steel shot is the best alternative price/quality).

Hello, and welcome to the board. Hope you will join us in all the many forums here.

First, be sure your barrels and choke tubes are acceptable for steel shot. Many of the older barrels cannot tolerate the hardness of steel shot.

Second, you might consider selling the collectable Supergrade rather than modifying and purchase a shotgun specifically made to shoot the steel shot.

A competent gunsmith should be able to examine your O/U to determine if the lock and barrels are suitable for conversion. A lot depends on action wear and lockup.

I'll move this to the Shotgun forum for better response.

Thank you for your reply, Kdub, I am curious. What price would a winchester supergrade make, as you stated it is a collectable item?

Cannot find a listing for a Mod 101 "Supergrade" in the Blue Book of Gun Values.

Need exact model and if mfg'd in US or Japan. A serial number, minus the last three digits, would be helpful.
