Re-bore, no. You are only dealing with .002" difference in groove diameter. Because the differeence is so slight you can frequently get away with re-chambering to .22 Magnum with no problems. Accuracy is usually acceptable. Go to "Leverguns", http://www.leverguns.com, the articles section. Paco Kelly has done many re-chambers and written at least one article about his successes. Depending on the gun there could be bolt face and magazine issues to deal with. A revolver and most single shots should pose no problems.

I won't say for sure, but you should be able to. What type of extractor does it have? This may be your only issue.

A SAv 24 , simple enough job, but cannot get a gunsmith to do it. Maybe they're afraid of pressure, but you know how thick the barrels are on these Savages.

Thanks - my problem now is to fin a Gunsmith that will do it. Most are afraid of liability re; pressure.

You can rent reamers from this outfit or buy them from Brownell's

You can buy a reamer form Brownells for about $40.00. Paco Kelly has written about it, I e-mailed him a couple of years back, and took the plunge. I reamed out a chamber on a 22lr pistol once, too easy. Randy.
