I am in the process of rebarreling a favorite Model 7 Remington. I want to replace the floorplate since it is scratched from years of use. I have looked for a steel replacement to no avail. I wonder if there are other alternatives as coatings etc. HELP!

That would be great if I needed one for my 700. I need one for my Seven. I wonder if Dakota would ever make a steel model 7 floorplate?

Sorry pardner, got the wrong listing. Here is the only one they show for the model seven. It's a factory part and still aluminum. I thought for sure they had a steel one.

Duracote holds up well on aluminum, comes in matt black or satin finish. If you check out thier web site they can apply themselves or recommend a applicator.

All those 9future) scratches will just rust on a blued one.
