I am a fair sheet metal worker but have never been a good welder. I enjoy watching a good welder work, especialy on 4130 tubing. It is pretty common in West Texas and Eastern New Mexico to see ranch gates and buisness decorated with metal silhouettes. Tatum New Mexico has quite a bit of this work on display, street signs etc. On our annual chilie buying trip this week we stopped and visited in Tatum for awhile. This is a little park in the center of town.

I was looking for some fancy engraving or something like that. Anyone want to bet which moderator locks this. I'll give 2-1 on Kdub and 5-1 on MikeG

Hmmm... I didnt think it was inappropriate, the GI's are carrying guns :) If it is I have no hard feelings delting it.

Don't get me wrong, I think its cool and all, i just am betting the Mods won't see enough of a connection to Firearms or Hunting

I win :D

Not terribly inappropriate, but we just don't have the forum bandwidth to branch out to non shooting / hunting stuff.

Yeah - had to work at the range today or would probably have been me.

William - I think it looks very cool and agree with you on the metal work. Just wish we had more band width.

Addt'l: Think I've figured out a way to save it. Will unlock and transfer to "My Neck of The Woods" forum.

William

I used to run Luggage from Nogales to Denver when I was trucking, Loved stopping and having green chili's and beans in that area.

I think that area between Demming and Hatch NM is the chili capatol of the world. Just thinking about it makes my mouth water. I could never understand why my wife didn't like me having such a lushes dinner. I always thought it was a gas.

Yes from Hatch to Deming is good for chile and onions. I love the Michigan Flats out by Deming. The rock is right below the surface and when it rains the water has no place to go, it stands around in large puddles for days and longer.
My Great Uncles mined South of Lordsberg in the 1920's and '30's. I have the Winchester M-92 .25-20 they used to feed the crew. The rifle is a real wreck. It is one of the most "used" rifles I have ever seen. It has ridden many miles under the seat of a mule drawn wagon. These same Uncles raised dry-land beans in the Estancia valley. The old M-92 was well traveled.
