It was a news story? Its posted on multiple news websites and its not x or r rated so why?
This is a family board, Zep.
You may read a lot of things on other websites that you won't find here. Marshall Stanton has requested the board be maintained where ALL family members will feel comfortable reading the posts. Your story didn't fit those parameters.

SO news agency's like CBS, NBC, ABC , CNN are not family? Ruters news agency is not family? Do you know what they teach kids about Gay marraige now in schools but its not ok to discuss whats in the news?
A Little politically correct are we not?

Yes...we are.
Usually quite polite too.

I guess Zeppelin! your sense of humor wasn't shared by most of the moderators. I would prefer polite also. This is after all a shooting forum and though we have a section for humor it's humor that my 12 and 13 year old grand daughters read often.

I agree with others here. Just because its on the news does not mean it is meant for young ears. Children learn from that the see, hear and read. Everyone has thier own idea as to what is ok for thier kids. They just ask here that you respect others children. If you have children, I am sure there would be things you would not want others to show your kids. Think of it that way.

Zeppy, There is much posted in the news media, that I would prefer not to have my grandkids read,
It's O.K. to tech them about Gay,s, Sex and contraception and the day after pill in our school system, but heaven forbid that they teach them about the Bible or any form of releigon, or even to allow them a moment of silent prayer.
If I post something that I think could be on the edge, I usually post a note for the moderators telling them to go ahead and delete it. I think sometimes we all go a little over the edge without meaning to. I'm just glad that the moderators are there to catch it.

So I assume you read what I posted before it was deleted?
I'm a relative newbie here but have been hanging out at other BBs for 5-6 years. I occasionally think this board is a little over-moderated but you don't have to look far to find some pretty bad examples of what happens at the other extreme.
I hope none of the fine, upstanding, hardworking, underpaid moderators here take offense at my comments. :D

I read what you posted before it was deleted Zep. I saw the humor in it too! From my point of view it just did not belong here. I might have sent it to a few of mi amigos, but not on a public forum.
It was much like "sheep jokes". They do not belong here.
Relax and regroup! I enjoy your posts.

Hey Zep - didn't see your joke - I've had a joke pulled and no big deal - I thought it was just north of the border but apparently it was a little south and we just need to know where the boundaries are to respect the culture of the forum. Actually, I appreciated and respected the fact that they did pull it once I realized it was not to standard. Like Cheezy said - no worries!
With regard to the media group you mentioned I rank them all there with PETA and the ACLU; they are all quite liberal in agenda and rarely have anything in print that espouses traditional family values. Ted Turner has a well-known anti-Christian mentality and I consider that to be as anti-family (at least for me and my house) as you can get. The culture at the NY Times, Washington Post, and CNN are perhaps the exact reciprocal of what the culture appears to be here at this forum.

Zep, I have had a few deleted, they were on the line, no big deal, I understand where they are coming from, I have a 9 year old that reads these Jokes. One of the other forums I frequent, I can't do that, as they cross the line and I really don't feel like explaining them to my little girl, that is Mommys job. Les

You are right...deleted that one too.
C'mon, guys - let's not be testing the boundries all the time. You know what's allowed and what isn't. Will make our Moderator lives a lot simpler.

Just a note before I lock this.
This site is paid for by Beartooth, and while straying a bit off topic (guns/shooting/hunting/reloading/cast bullets) is acceptable...and humor is always appreciated...as moderators we are trying to uphold the standards as we understand them. If we err, another moderator will call us on it.
It's not that we (at least some of us) don't find some things inappropriate for this board funny...we (the royal "we" here rather than the all-inclusive "we"). I've had posts deleted as well...and in retrospect, justly.
Being human, our standards do slip now and again....stricter on some days, looser on others, and on occaion some humor posts aren't read at all. Today, after being called out for surgury at 3:30AM, my tolerance is low.
So...yeah...we missed somethings in the past that maybe we should have zapped....but that doesn't change the here and now.
