The Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries and the State Legislature is currently discussing changing the law regarding the ethnicity and legality of allowing hunting on Sundays. I urge any and all participants of this forum who would like to see this law changed to allow hunting on Sundays to contact the VDGIF and their state legislatures to push for this law change. Being that this is a law, the VDGIF cannot change this outdated ruling but they can suggest to the state legislature that it should be recinded.
Please contact the VDGIF at http://www.dgif.virginia.gov/ and contact your state representatives and voice your opinion on changing this law. Any decisions made during these discussions would not take effect until next year, but now is the best chance we have to change them for a good while. The last time this was discussed was in the late 90's and the word got out too late for most people to voice their opinion. Make our wishes known now and often!
If you do not know your state representatives, you can do a search on Gun Owners of America at http://www.gunowners.org/ and click on the Legislative Action Center box.
