Ok, looks like my plans for a handy dandy 1894 are nixed for now.
Anyone here chop down a 336 into a trapper type model?
I was considering one of the youth models with the 16.5" barrels, and changing it out with a full length buttstock, but they're not on Marlins list anymore, and to be honest, I would like a Stainless rifle this time.
Just curious as to your ideas, and opinions. AND what it might cost to get the 20" barrel and mag tube cut back to a handier 16.5" Thanks again,

Tim

This will be my first attempt at posting a pic hope it comes out. The above is the what it used to look like 20" bbl and curved lever with full mag. These mods at bobbing the bbl and mag making a straight lever of the curved one took about 4 hrs. I know it's a little crude at the moment, but I got it this far about two hours ago. Mods on the stubbie,
1. 24oz trigger job
2. Action slicked up
3. Mainspring reduction
4. Shortened bbl, and mag tube
5. Sling swivel mag tube retainer
6. Curved to straight lever.
7. Modified Redfield peep and .500 tall front sight
8. Full wood fore arm to slim.

More mods in the future? Most likely this is my expiermental prototype all custom handy blaster do it all.
