Greetings gentlemen.
After a long hiatus from reloading, I have caught the bug once again and have a couple of questions.
My primary stash of hulls is comprised of new AA and Estate hulls. These are all from factory loads purchased in the past 6 months.
The AAs are grey and are from 1 1/8 oz. loads. They are labeled Super Sport. The base wad is seperate from the hull.
My problem with these is that the loading data I have refers to a Compression-Formed hull. Does this refer to the two piece base wad hulls I have or the older one piece hull? This is from the book Reloading for Shotgunners, 5th Edition.
The older manual I have, Lyman's Shotshell Handbook, 3rd Edition, also refers to compression formed cases. But, I know there was a switch to cheaper hulls about 5-6 years ago. I believe the earlier hulls were single piece hulls w/ integrated base wad.
Basically, I want to know if I can use the data from either manual. The first one mentioned is copyrighted 2005, so I would assume the data is G2G for the newer cases. The second is copyrighted 1984 so I'm probably SOL.
Also, I can't find any data for reloading Estate hulls. Can someone point me in the right direction?
On a related note, I was checking hulls after punching primers tonight and noticed a AA were the base wad had shot out. I must have picked it up with my shells. I would assume someone else reloaded it to its potential. How many reloads can I expect out of the newer AAs with a separate base wad?
Thanks in advance.
