Though I've never done any "serious" gunsmithing before I am capable of it given the right instructions. I have 2 Cimmaron/Uberti Single Actions that I would like to work on to smooth out the triggers and hammer action and perhaps lighten the triggers a little. I had a chance shooting range conversation with a black powder Ruger shooter who told me he bought a book (didn't remember the title) that gave clear instuctions and pictures for assembly/disassembly of single actions and all he did was "polish" his Rugers innards with a Dremmel tool. The results were fantastic. Any suggestions on books, DVD's, VCR tapes etc.

Sure. You can get a copy of Brownells catalog, which lists these (below) books and videos about tuning up Colt SSAs and the clones. All these and other books and videos are available from Brownells, Midway or some other source

Although the title lists Vol. I & II, you only get ONE book. It's a fine book too but perhaps a little too detailed for the home hobbyist but it's definitely the definitive reference on the single-action Colt and it's clones.
