I am currently in the bidding for a Model 94AE in ,357 mag.
I know the AE means "Angle Ejector" (Because I asked) and am wondering since it was originally manufactured to eject sideways past a scope, does that mean that the whole thing is designed to mount a scope without extensive retooling? Will it accomodate a regular eye relief scope or will it require an extended ER (pistol) scope. I had a 94 30-30 years ago and gave it away to a very good friend, and have kicked myself ever since. This is my first venture back to lever action.

With any 94EA's you mount a scope directly on top of the reciever as any normal mount. Already drilled and tapped for bases. No need for any tooling. You can use a regular rifle scope. Thats the only reason for making the AE. With the old top eject you had to use a side mount.

Here's my Model 94 Trapper in .30-30 that I just had a Bushnell 1.5-4.5 Banner Dusk to Dawn put on it.

No special mounts.
