I have finally shot out a barrel. My M700 in 308 has gradually lost its' accuracy over the summer. I noticed it in the spring and was shooting it yesterday when I realized that I have had it for 11 years. As close as I can figure it has had 6-7,000 rounds through it. Was gtting 1/2 MOA at 300 yds, best was .89 " at that distance.

Need suggestions for a gunsmith to rebarrel, true the action and maybe some other tune ups.

Are you asking for local or national 'smiths?

Either is fine, was hoping to hear from personal experience with a particular smith. Thanks.

I've had David A. Van Horn of Gilbert, Az (480)892-9630) build over a half dozen rifles for me, including several T/C Contender barrels. Does a nice job, but like most good 'smiths, usually has a pretty long backup on orders. Might give him a call if you can't find one closer.

The guy who builds my rifles is not that busy. He is not what I call a gunsmith since he does not repair guns. He just builds custom rifles. All the rifles he has built for me were all sub 1/4" shooters at 100yds. His specialty is 700's and custom actions. He can work 700 triggers down in the oz. if you want one that light. If you like I can call him and see if he will take on the work for you. Let me know.
