CASS CITY, Mich (AP) - A wolverine that has been roaming the state's Thumb area in recent years is a female that likely travelled to the state from Ontario, test results show.
In February 2004, photos snapped by a state Department of Natural Resources wildlife biologist marked the state's first confirmed sighting of the forest predator in the wild since reports by fur traders dating to the late 1700s and early 1800s.
Jeffrey Ford and friends have followed the wolverine and filmed it since coyote hunters saw it near Bad Axe.
