Howdy Gents,

Been looking into buying a 94 Legacy in 38-55. Seems like I've heard some complaints about the fit and finish of these rifles in the past but can't put my finger on where I heard it. Anyone got firsthand experience with these? Do the 38-55's have problems chambering bore sized hardcast like some of the more recent 94's? Boy, the vultures sure have landed on the Win 94 carcass! The prices some people are asking...

I have a Legacy (CBS version) in .30-30. Fit and finish is excellent, and it's a good shooter

Bart,

I recently bought a OFW Commemorative 38-55. It is a 1980 gun. It is a sweetheart to shoot, and inherently accurate. The bores are .377-.379. I own 2 more 38-55 guns Both of which will chambers original length brass- 2.125". The Lever will not, it will chamber current production brass 2.080".
Fit & Finish look good to me, it is not Shiloh Sharps presentation grade, AAA finish, but it is nice.
Buy it, you'll like it.

Jon :)
