Huge elk and controversy

This elk is supposed to have come from the Selway Bitterroot Wilderness Area in Idaho. However the Boone and Crockett Club is beginning to hear different.

This photo is circulating the internet at World's Record pace. The text accompanying the photo states that it was taken in the Selway Wilderness in Idaho with a bow and scores somewhere between 530-575.
B&C is reserving judgment on this bull. If this bull were, in fact, taken as a natural, free-ranging, wild, native elk from the Selway region of Idaho, it would be approximately 130-150 inches bigger than any elk ever recorded from that region.

UPDATE: Some sources (not yet verified) are pointing to a canned hunting facility in Quebec as the location of this bull, rather than a free-ranging elk in Idaho.

Sure be nice if there were elk that big down here. More and more places doing the fenced in pen raised canned hunts all over the country. We have a bird hunting preserve/farm up little canyon a few miles from me. I've know fellas to shoot fifty pheasents a day up there.

They raise thousands a year and release them in front of the ranches dogs for the hunters whom pay the yearly fee to hunt there. It's a year round operation and there is a waiting list for membership.

We just had a big elk/farmer/canned hunt fella arrested in Southern Id. for trying to stop fish and game from destroying well over a hundred of his elk that excaped the fences. They say they'll never get them all and they have already started breeding with the native elk.
