I would like to replace the sights on my Marlin 1894SS. I was thinking of getting a WGRS so that I can use the existing holes on the top of the receiver. I also want to replace the front sight sight as well but this is the hard part for me and where I need some you fellas' advice and expert opinions. First I need to know what is the correct sight height for the Marlin 1894 in 44 mag, anyone by chance know what that is?. Next is what is generally better a gold bead or a white ivory bead to use in conjuntion with a rear peep. I was ythinking of going with a Marbles 1/16 ivory bead what do you guys think?.

I bought a Marlin 1894 .41 mag, the LTD stainless and installed a XS front and rear sight. At first it took some getting used to as all my other rifles have williams rec. sights. I have grown to really like the XS sight the more I shoot it. I bought mine from Brownells, I think about 80.00? I will put the same sight on my other 1894's as I go along.
