Found a marlin 336SC made in 1953, "K". Chambered in 35 Rem. It is not driiled and tapped. It is about 80-88%. A little blueng worn off barrell, couple dings, maybe a couple browning spots under barrell. Nothing horable. One thing is it did have a recoil pad of similar vintage. Aftermarket?
What is it worth?
If I don't get it I'll spread the word if there is interest.

I bought one last year, a mint example, for $235 -- but I'll admit, that was a heckuva deal and, frankly, I was more than a bit shocked when I stumbled on to the deal. Typically, I would have expected to pay $300-325 in my area, where SCs are rare and .35s even rarer.

For one in the condition you describe, I doubt I'd offer more than $225-235. That's why I was so delighted to get mine for that price!

Its wearing $250 on it now.
Didn't think much of it 'till I looked up the date.
Need to get another look at it to see if I over or under-rated it. If it was a premicrogroove that came factory driiled & tapped ('54-'56?) it would be mine. Also a 336A would be nice.

I would snag it the price sounds very fair. I paid $400 for a spectacular SC in 35 Rem this summer. It is a work of art, it has the most beautiful wood on it and the metal has that deep blue to it also pre drilled.

Being a minor collector of pre-MicroGroove 336s, I LIKE 'em undrilled! I stick a vintage Lyman Receiver sight on 'em, and call it good! But, to each his own.

BTW, I have a 1953 336A .35, and they ARE nice! :)

If I had run across that deal in Montana I would have put my shoulder out reaching for my wallet. At least $350 here and up over $400 is not uncommon.
