I have been trying to find a good percussion style muzzleloading shotgun to no avail. I know alot of manufactuers make inline muzzleloading shotguns. If anybody would like to part with a used percussion style muzzleloader let me know.
Thanks

You're going to have to pay to get a muzzleloading shotgun, inline or not; you can get a 12 gauge from cabela's(made by pedersoli, I think) for about 650. This price is without all the special things you need for ML shotgunning.

There is only one maker now...regardless of what's stamped on the gun, Pedersoili mades the it. WERE other makers, but the market is kind of small and only DP still imports muzzle loading doubles. CVA made some pretty good ones, less expensive and lighter in weight than the DP guns, but those are done.
Are some trustworth antique arms dealers that will occasionally have a GOOD original SXS worth shooting, and if you stay away from big names they don't have to cost an arm and a leg...but the riginals, after so many years of use, are less strong than the modern made guns, and even though I've used them, will shoot them with lighter loads. You reallly have to be ready to make springs and do ther repairs to shoot these old ones.
Neveer were a lot of percssion single barrels...were some smoothbore muskets that could be used as shotguns (my first muzzle loading shotgunning was by loading a Brown Bess with shot...it's 12ga.). Were a few fowlers reproduced, but they lessed less popular than the SXs's (and they never sold all that well).
Really a shame. OF all the muzzle loaders, the shaotgun is the one type that gives up very little in ballistics in comparsion to smokless/cartridge guns.

Forgot to mention taht several models have screw chokes. Aren't quite the same diamenter as other screw chokes, and loading with the full or modified choke tube in place can be quite a chore. The bores are sized about like the INSIDE of a plastic shotshell, which makes the 12ga. closer to a 13ga. and the 10ga. closer to an 11ga.; this lets them use the same componetnts that cased ammo uses (but I still prefer card and fiber wads). Cabala's are made by Pedersoli, and are mighty good guns.

You can find a 12ga. barrel for both the T/C New Englander and the Renegade. Dixie gun works may still have the 12ga. barrel available or go to Fox Ridge Outfitters. That is T/C's custom shop. they may still have them also. Last year I found a LH 12ga. barrel form them for my T/C NE.
Good luck!

I'm not overly thrilled with the production guns, nothing real particular about them, just not my cup of tea so to speak.
I would strongly suggest you look at the Jim Chambers kits with the 20ga Long Hammock fowler barrel. I build all my own ML's from scratch but everyone I know that got one of Jim's kits has had nothing but praise for them and you won't find a finer bore than that of a Long Hammock barrel.
If you're not up for a kit, I can hook you up with a fellow who can whip you out a beautiful custom fowler or double.
Screwin chokes are a real pain in the butt and totally un-necessary. I've had 10 & 12 ga ML's in single and double barrel and honestly, I wouldn't go any bigger than 20ga because the bigger you get, the more picky they get.
A 20ga will throw tighter & harder hitting patterns with a 1.25oz load than a 10ga with a 2oz charge. My little 20ga flintlock fowler with the Long Hammock barrel throws better patterns than most of my 12ga cartridge guns can do with smokeless loads. I can't find anyone willing to shoot cards at 40yds against this one for 5 bucks each anymore.
Not trying to twist your arm, just relaying what I learned the hard & expensive way. I used to be a big bore lots-o-shot lover till I found out the 20ga & 24ga are a whole lot lighter to tote around all day, swing faster letting me snap shoot with a flintlock as quick as I can with the little H&R 20ga.
Just some things to think about before you buy something you may not be happy with.
