Mr. Gates I was on your web site yesterday and was looking at your order form. I noticed that only the the Terminator ammo and the the Predetor II slugs were the only 12GA slug loads listed. Did you stop producing the Express and Xterminator 12GA ammo or just haven't had the time to update the site?. Also I see the old results for the old Terminator slug In the Linebaghs penetration seminar posted but are there results for the new style slug with the Express And Xterminator version some where?. I think I will be ordering some of those Predetor II slugs from tou for Black Bear next year, I can't see using the larger slug as it would be overkill :D :p on Mr. bear and I don't need that kinda recoil. 600gr @ 1400fps is bad enough.
One last thing before I forget, what kind of accuracy can I expect to see out of my Mossberg 500 tropy slugster (rifled barrel). I know that every gun is a law unto itself and mine may or may not shoot these slugs as well as another, but what results have you seen as well as your customers reported to you.

Hello 336A and All....Thank you for your interest in Ole' Dixie's stuff!
In order to understand the concept behind Dixie's ammo, it would be best to think, not of shotguns, but rather hard cast bullets......albeit Large Ones!
Just because the load is in a plastic hull, it acts just like one of the large centerfires. Depending of the firearm, takedown/take-apart or screwed in barrel, these larger bulets will shoot right in with any large centerfire. The .730"-600 gr bullet (BC .146) trajectory matches what you would expect from a similar .45-70, .50-70, etc.
In fact, we have acquired a Mossberg 695 bolt gun, with scope, and some of the boys have been doing some long range plinking.
Now.....we have gone through the Devil getting our webpage "up to snuff"! We still ship both Express and Xterminator (they are listed on out order form), but we showed a cutaway of Terminator. All thre Terminator, Express, and Xterminator, are loaded with the same .730"-730 gr bullet. The Predator II .730"-600 gr (BC .146) truncated cone bullet is really all anyone needs, until the game gets real big! Its recoil is manageable , along with Terminator, in regular weight guns....however, we suggest people weight their guns to 10 pounds when using Express or Xterminator.
It should be understood that these bullets react on game of all sizes, exactly like Marshall's hard cast.....they are just big hard cast.
We will be adding more Tech Notes (some are on it now) and expanding the general data.We also have a nice load called Dixie Stryker coming aboard for lighter weight guns that matches the Paradox blackpowder load of years ago.....Best Regards, James

Hi,

I would like to know what you sell and recommend for a 20ga 3" Modified choke? Would the rifled slug be the wrong choice for the smoothbore?

I too had some difficulty figuring out the ordering options. Perhaps a picture with a checkbox would help some of the more easily confused among us...

Well Mr. Gates since your product has hit the market I stopped thinking of my shotgun as a shotgun. But like you say a rifle and a true BIG bore rifle at that :D . However to tell you the truth I just can't see whacking a little ol' white tail with one of your monters :D , but was thinking that they would be just what the doctor ordered for black bear. Providing my Mossberg shotgun likes your ammo kinda groups should I expect to see at 100yds?. What do you usually get out of your Rem 870/ Hastings setup at that range?.
