I have come across two boxes of old .25 auto ammo. I was wondering if there was any intrest for these things. The boxes are in ok shape. One is from Winchester and it looks like its from the 50's or early 60's. The other is from UMC and looks like its from the 30's or 40's. That said, Should I just turn this stuff in to the cops for disposal and keep the box?

Always folks at gun shows looking to trade around old ammo. I wouldn't know about the value, but there's always an interest in old stuff. I certianly wouldn't give it to anyone to dispose of.
When you get 25 posts on the forum list it in the trading post section. No telling what kind of replys you might get.

There are people on GunBroker who will buy that ammunition.
If you'd like, I can email a fellow I know who has bought old cartridges from me. Maybe he'd care to purchase yours too?

Why turn it over to LEOs? Let them buy there own ammunition!

I'd try to sell or trade it as others suggested. If it is stored properly, ammo can stay good for decades.
About 10 years ago, I bought a case of Laupa surpluss 9mm, mostly from the 1950s and 60s. It was some of the more accurate store bought ammo I've shot

Cartridge collectors will pay extra for full boxes in good condition. Individual cartridges are worth as much as new. .25 ACP is common, but yours may have a rare headstamp or bullet that's worth more. Not much chance that you're looking at something like a .354 Ross that's worth over $100 each, but you never know.
