Picked up a clean Henry .22 for a bone today at the pawn shop in good condition. Action is very smooth. Feedback?

I have the 22 mag lever action that I hunt with, the rest of the rimfires are getting dusty in the closet :D I will say I did not care for the factory sights, replaced them with Williams up front and Marbles in the rear. Other than the sights, I am WELL PLEASED!!!

I really like my Henry lever action. I bought it new, right out of the box the trigger was nice and the action was smooth as butter. The sights are a little funky but they work. I think they are a great rifle for the money.

The sights on the "Golden Boy" realy suck too! other than that it's a good gun for the money.
It's NO Winchester 9422 or Marlin 39A.

I've got the standard H001 (22LR), but stripped the blue paint off of the aluminum receiver (using paint remover) and left it in the white. I replaced the plastic front sight band and rear barrel band with Henry's painted aluminum bands ($10)(stripped them too).

I've not seen stock walnut stocks this nice in a long while. The aluminum is slowly oxidizing and looks great (antique). This gun's action is smooth as silt, the trigger is crisp, and the gun is easily accurate out to 100 yds with open sights and a couple of clicks on the rear sight ramp.

I love this little gun. It's fun to shoot and is well made. A bit tricky to totally disassemble (if you want to strip the gun like I did), but I worked out some detailed typed instructions on how to do just that and reassemble it.

I highly recommend the Henry.
