I'm ready and excited to again take my 94 into Adirondack deer camp for my well-deserved week's vacation. Anybody else doing the same?

Wish I were. Make sure to share your experiences with us after your retrurn. Good camp stories are always enjoyed. Good luck with the hunt.

I usually put my camper out in the Pierce/Headquarters area in North Idaho for two to three weeks. This year because of several reasons the camper is staying home.
The old fella that lives across the street from me puts his camper out every year for most of the summer, pulling it in after hunting season is over. He's never had any problems over the last ten or fifteen years til now. Someone got in and vandalized his camper and stole everything that wasn't nailed down including every plate and knife and fork. Five other camps were hit.
This old fella is 81 and his wife is 79. There was so much damage done I doubt that they will get to go next year.
I and my old hunting partner have both been blessed with heart problems and were both having problems this fall so extended stays in the woods are out, this according to both our wives.
It's got to the point that unless there is someone that stays with the hunting camp 24 hours a day you can almost expect something to be missing or your camp vandalized when you get back. Generators are one of the favorite items to steel along with guns and any portable camping gear.
Most folks that camp out now do so in numbers just to avoid this kind of thing. Sad day for rural Idaho.
I still plan on getting out and doing some deer hunting and did so this morning. I hunted my favorite draw and the only thing I kicked out was a lone coyote. I left him to live for another day, but I'll be back to try to cancel his ticket after deer season is over.

Sad days indeed. Our camp has been really lucky WRT theft and vandalism. Most camps where I hunt have padlocked gate entry so cars and trucks can't get in. The camp has members in and out at various times all year, so it gets checked on fairly often.
