Hi
Does anyone know where I can go hunting on horseback?
I have my 94 but no horse for the moment.

Lots of guided hunts out here in the West. Idaho, where I live, Montana and Wyoming. Most all use horses to get into the back country and pack out, but mostly you'll end up hunting on foor.
Just look under guided hunt on your browser.

Here in sweden hunrting from horseback its not very common. But I´m a horseman and a hunter and used to do so. But unfortunately my horse Amigo (a criollo from Argentina) dies last year and I am on foot again. :-)
Therefore, when I´m planing a trip to US I decided to try to hunt a little.
Thanks for your advice.

Hay forester I got to apologize to you. I didn't even notice that your from Sweden, sorry.
By the way welcome to the forum.
Our guided hunts here in Idaho usually use horses to get you into the back country to a spike camp. Often then a guide will take you out on foot or on horseback to a hunting area. Usually he parks the horses and you hunt on foot. If you down an elk/deer/bear/cougar He'll then get the horses and use them to pack the meat back to camp.
Here is a few sites you can look at in the area where I live.
www.russellpond.com/elk-hunt.html

www.fishandgame.com/paradise/
www.bbarcoutfitters.com/
www.bungalowoutfittersllc.com/elk.htm
www.clearwateroutfitters.net/prices.htm
These will give you an idea of prices and durations of an elk hunt.
I live in Idaho in the Northwest part of the US. It's right on the Western edge of the Rocky mountians and we have some pretty good hunting. Shots can be from a few yards in heavy brush to hundreds of yards for cross canyon shots.
Here is a few pix of where I live and some of the places I hunt. I use two big game rifles, a Remington 700 Classic 8mm Remington magnum and a 700 Remington mountian rifle in 280 Remington. Mostly used the 8mm mag since 1979.
