What kind of velocity are we talking about with the 425 , in feet per second

Out of the .45-70's, in the Marlin 1895 series guns (modern), velocities in the 1900+ fps range are well within pressure constraints when using H335, H322 or perhaps RL-7 (more after more extensive testing).

But yes, you'll get at least 1900 fps with these powders. (Enought to loosen the fillings in your teeth )

Hi Marshall,

I've taken the plunge and ordered some of these new "cavity looseners" of yours. *If they are as accurate as your 405LFNGC, they could become my bullet of choice! *Hope I get an elk tag this year! *Hope I get the bullets before elk season too! *:D

I'll be using either H335 &/or RL7. *I've used both with your 405gr with good success. *

Question is what's the recipe when one adds 20 grains to the bullet? *

I'm using 56.0gr H335 with the 405's and 49grs RL7 with the 405's. *So I assume the powder needs to drop a little for the 425 grain bullets? *

The wide meplat is appealing.....you've tested these for cycling through the action as it states in your article. *All this time I've wondered why I couldn't find a corresponding WLNGC! *Now here it is, a little heavier but here it is! *Thanks!

I'm using the 1895G, nicknamed "Thumper" *(most of my guns have some nickname or other). *I love the thump they make on the other end after they make the boom on my end! *

Thanks for all your support!
