Good pictures, Marshall.

It sounds like a fairly good idea even if it doesn't fit perfectly. &nbsp;Having started with a full-sized pad to grind down, I can appreciate the time savings that only minor trimming will entail.

I had trouble with the fit as well. &nbsp;I ordered the pad in anticipation of saving myself the time and expense of gunsmith installation. &nbsp;Wrong! &nbsp;The pad was so severely undersized that it was a no go. &nbsp;I sent it back with an explanation and a tracing of the buttstock of my Marlin 1895G asking for a replacement or refund. &nbsp;A few weeks later a new pad arrived. &nbsp;The fit was even worse! &nbsp;Undersized so much that no amount of fitting was possible.
