Sam,

Here's some data to get you going, and put you into the velocity envelope specified.

BTB .476"-355g LFNGC/10.5g Titegroup/WLPP/Hornady Brass/1145 fps

BTB .476"-355g LFNGC/13.6g Longshot/WLPP/Hornady Brass/1240 fps

BTB .476"-355g LFNGC/24.0g H4227/WLPP/Hornady Brass/1290 fps

Hope this helps! Thanks for asking.

God bless,

Thanks Marshall. I was curious if you had any data using Unique or IMR 4227. I am attempting to keep the number of different powders toa minimum.
For example I use W 748 fo 308, 30-30, and 223. I am trying to keep my pistol powders to Unique, IMR 4227, #9 and 296 for my big bores. I use Power Pistol for my 45's and 40's and bullsey for my 9mm's.
I really appreciate your help and your fine products.

Sam,

Regarding the above loads for the .480, substitute your IMR 4227 for the H4227, but drop the starting load by half a grain, and work up the load from there.

For Unique in the .480 try this:

BTB .476"-355g LFNGC/10.0g Unique/WLPP/Hornady Brass/+ or - around 1050 fps.

Let us know how you make out with that shooter!

Have a geat weekend. God bless,

THanks Marshall, that will help a lot. I have really taken to heart your article about handgun hunting loads and velocity, meplat size, etc.... Not only are they more pleasant to shoot but my handguns will last longer.....
As far as the weekend goes, this is actually the beginning of my work week, every fri, sat and sun, but it will be a good one, as long as we are upright, able to take nourishment and to do our given work to the best of our abilities.
Thanks for your help..
