I have a great desire to get a better set of sights (that are better for me) so I can maximize my shooting ability to 200 yrds with my 2006 30-30 336C. I've taken off the hood over the front bead for better light. That helped.
I would like to add a small peep sight like Williams' WGRS-336. It is a peep, but adjustable only by screws. I'm pretty much a one load, one sight distance hunter. I am pretty good at judging elevation adjustments for shorter shots. What I really need is a smaller or more precision-fine front sight than the standard bead.
I stumbled across KNS Precision's crosshair sight that intrigues me. It is only about $27 in MidwayUSA's catalog. My only question is what elevation I should get to match with the slighter higher WGRS (than the stock semi-buckhorn).
Anyone have a suggestion? I just don't want to go to one of the side/top mount peeps like the 5D, etc. I want to keep clean lines and can give up the adjustment characteristics of those models.
